Vertigo Radio began as a collective idea back in 2002 with two high school friends. It spawned a local online internet stream which hosted weekly talk shows from 2002 until 2003. During this time the show was extremely vulgar and had very little format, but that was due to the youth of the hosts. It was pulled later in that year.

After many different incarnations, ranging from ShoutCast streams to college radio programs on 100.1 WUMF, Vertigo Radio Live found its niche and calling in the winter of 2008. It shifted from a music show with some talk to a talk show with some music.  The VRL of today is a round table discussion show that focuses on alternative news, technology, censhorship, rights and freedoms, and anything else that the hosts may find to banter about that week. It runs for two hours every single week and mixes the humorous with the serious to deliver a blunt, but funny, account of the news that you didn't know you needed to know. The show is posted each Tuesday and also offers a podsafe song every show as well as recommendations for free media from around the web. The show has really found it's place after a lot of tweaking.
